"Renewing standards for Massage Therapists & Bodyworkers by establishing an organization of competent practice."

Welcome to Minnesota’s own Massage Therapist & Bodyworkers’ Guild clients' resource page!  This guild benefits massage therapy clients while boosting the profession as a whole.

It can be difficult and confusing for clients to know how to find quality care when looking for a massage therapist/bodyworker. MTBG offers a way for clients to find the best practitioners in their area.  Clients can quickly see where practitioners are and what they do. The practitioners listed on our site abide by our code of ethics and are dedicated to conducting their practices professionally. MTBG "expert" standards for membership include:

  • Minimum of 4 years experience (roughly 1,000 sessions)
  • 500 hours of formal massage/bodywork training or 8 years of experience
  • Competent in understanding of anatomy and physiology
  • Competent with the indications and contraindications for massage/bodywork
  • Treatment rooms must be kept clean, tidy and welcoming
  • S.O.A.P. (or equivalent) notes should be updated for each client/patient
  • Must carry professional insurance (Ex. ABMP, AMTA, etc...)
  • Continued commitment to education in the field
  • Maintains a good relationship with other health care providers

Our Practitioners stand apart from the sea of varied massage therapists.  MTBG encourages its members to be their best by upholding member standards, utilizing educational oppotunities, and opening a dialogue within the guild. Our forum allows practitioners a place to ask questions, leave commentary and help each other. Even those practitioners who do not meet the requirements for becoming a member are welcome to attend classes, seminars, and use some of our resources.

We hope you'll find this site informative and helpful. If you have any comments or questions for us, we value your feedback.
